Women's Tennis Adds Talented Mann-Ning Li

Silver City, NM -  Adding to the highly talented Fall of 2022 recruiting class, Western New Mexico University's Women's Tennis Head Coach, Alex Hunt has signed Mann-Ning Li. WNMU Athletics would like to welcome Mann-Ning to the Mustang Family!

"I've known Mimi for a few years now, ever since my days as the assistant coach at Hardin-Simmons University," said Hunt. "She has continued to impress me throughout her stellar two years at Collin College."

Li, who goes by Mimi is from Denton, TX, has been a proven winner. Before going to Collin College, she was an USTA Texas Super-Champ level junior tennis player. In her freshman year (2021), she was ranked 15th nationally in singles and 7th in doubles, where she made the quarter finals in both singles and doubles at the National Junior College Tournament. Currently, Li is co-captain of the No. 8 ranked Collin College women's tennis team.

Li is also stellar in the classroom. In 2019, she was a Texas USTA scholarship recipient. Throughout her time at Collin College, she was a scholar athlete and was on the Collin College's dean's list.

"Mimi has played in the lineup for Collin College her entire career there and has contributed in an exciting way," said Hunt. "I'm pumped to get someone of her talent coming here to WNMU starting the Fall 2022 semester. Should be a lot of fun! This new era of WNMU Tennis continues to move forward."
