Coach Vigil Announces Position Changes Amongst Staff

Silver City, N.M. - Head Coach Philip Vigil has announced position changes for the Western New Mexico University Football coaching staff. 

Skyler Cavanaugh will join the staff as the Tight Ends Coach. Cavanaugh comes from South Dakota State where he played five years for Jackrabbits (2017-2021). At SDSU he made the playoffs all five years, appeared in the semifinals four times and is a National Runner-up. As a graduate assistant at WNMU, he will be studying educational leadership.

"I want to thank Coach Vigil for giving me the opportunity to come in and work with the tight ends. I'm excited to work with these guys and impact them on and off the field" said Cavanuagh.

Jazz Dominguez will now transition to the Mustangs Running Back Coach. Dominguez coached the Tight Ends last season. Daniel Hunter will now be the Mustangs Assistant Offensive Lineman Coach, helping out Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Lineman Coach, Billy Hickman. Hunter worked up the ranks last season starting out as the teams drone and video operator, to being the teams Running Back Coach by the end of the year.
