Niles leads the Mustang Pack to Place 4th at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate

Las Cruces, NM –  Playing in the final day of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, at the New Mexico State Golf Course, the Western New Mexico University Men's Golf team placed in 4th out of 11 teams (10 being D1 schools). After two days, WNMU ended with a total score of 888. 
Sophomore, Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary), lead the Western New Mexico team with the best total score of 218. His scores throughout the three rounds were (74-71-73) and was ranked T14. Right behind his teammate, is Adam Samnegard, with a total score of 219 and ranked T17. Throughout his three rounds, Samnegard scored (70-76-73). 
Just shy behind the two is Aaron Perales (Deming, NM/Deming HS), T-41, who scored for a total of 227. His two-day round score was (74-75-78). Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) ended the tournament at (80-71-76) with a rank of also T-41. Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) ended T-55 (78-79-77) and ended Herb Wimberly with 234.
WNMU placed 4th for birdies with 37 throughout the tournament. The team was also 4th in Par 5s for an average score of 4.80 and a score of -9. 
Playing as an Individual is Oklahoma State's Tiger Christensen, who scored a total of  (-12) shooting 64-66-73 which adds up to 203.  In second is Oklahoma State's Rayhan Thomas, also playing as an individual, carding(70-69-68) totaling 207. In third is New Mexico State's very own Garrison Smith, scoring (67-68-73) throughout the three days with an ending score of 208.
The Mustangs will continue their fall season heading to Waikoloa Village, Hawaii at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Tournament starting on October 25th.
