Mustangs Will Look To Improve In Second Round of Nick Turner Invitational

Albuquerque, NM –  Playing in the Nick Turner Invitational, at Arroyo Del Oso Golf Course, hosted by Fort Lewis College, the Western New Mexico University Women's Golf sits in 13th. WNMU shot 327 as a team.

Amanda Portillo (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) and Mia Trousdale (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) (playing as an individual) are both T31, carding 77 after day one.

Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) and Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) are both T56, ending their round with an 83. One stroke behind is Valerie Enriquez who is T64. Chelsea Medina (Silver City, NM/Silver HS) shot an 85 and is T66.

A pair of St. Mary's Rattlers are T1. Both Sofia Ruescas and Estelle Beck are (-2), ending their round with a 70. Beatrice Perucchini of Midwestern State and Brady Turnquist are T3 carding 71 and are (-1). 

St. Mary's is first, shooting (+4). Tied in second is Biola and Arkansas-Fort Smith finishing the day (+8).

The Mustangs will continue the Nick Turner Invitational tomorrow morning, looking to improve, finishing out the invitational.
