Box Score Silver City, NM – The Western New Mexico University Volleyball team played in a four set match-up against Cameron University. The Mustangs defeated the Aggies in a close match after a nail-biting game. 

Senior Bria Augustine (Bellflower, CA/Mayfair High School) had an outstanding match totaling up 15 kills, 3 blocks, and 15 digs. Maggie Roe (Boulder City, NV/Boulder City High School) was also a huge offensive presence in tonight's match ending with 13 kills and 2 blocks. Freshman Vianey Marrufo-Lopez had some great kills tonight earning herself 8 kills. 
 
Freshman Hailey Hertzog (Phoenix, AZ/Chaparral High School) lead the Mustang offense with great placements of the ball landing her 22 assists. Right behind her, was senior Madelynn Culp (Vancouver, WA/Union High School) with 21 assists during the thrilling four sets. 

Freshman, Kayla Judd (St. David, AZ/St. David HS) was a huge asset to the defense as she provided the team with momentum changing blocks and help up a strong wall against the Aggies offense as she had 4 blocks. Freshman Eliana Moultrie (El Paso, TX/Canutillo HS) played with urgency as she was able to pick up 18 digs for the night. 

In set one, the Aggies came out with energy and were ready to compete against the Mustangs as they defeated WNMU 25-20. In set two, the momentum changed the Mustangs were set out to show what they were bringing to the table. Bria Augustine (Bellflower, CA/Mayfair High School) and Kayla Judd (St. David, AZ/St. David HS) lead the team with game changing blocks and kills to defeat the Aggies, 25-23. In set three, the Mustangs gave it their all to not let the ball fall and were successful in it as they made their second in, 25-22. In the final set four, the Aggies gave the Mustangs a run for their money, but Senior, Bria Augustine (Bellflower, CA/Mayfair High School) was not having it and helped the offense earn 11 kills in the set. WNMU was able to pull through the battle, and finished the final set, 25-20. 
 
WNMU Mustangs will see their home court again, on Saturday, October, 16^th against.  Midwestern State University-TX. Saturday's match will begin at 12:00 pm MT.
