Senior Spotlight - Erick Arambula

A two-year Mustang and a well-respected runner for the Men's Cross Country team,Erick Arambula (San Elizario, TX/San Elizario HS) is a role-model for younger student-athletes. Arambula is native of San Elizario, TX, where he finished 62nd (34:21.43) in Nationals, in the Fall of 2020 .

"Erick has been a strong component for the Mustang Cross Country program. He has been a solid Top-5 runner and I can always count on his consistency at practice and race day" Praises Head Coach Macario Campos.

Coming from South Plains College, Arambula spent two years with the Mustangs and is planning to return to WNMU next season. Due COVID-19 the NCAA has granted eligibility back.

Majoring in Wildlife and Law Enforcement, Arambula plans to be outdoors in his career, as he has aspirations to become a game warden. In his free time Erick likes to go fishing, play soccer and video games.

Concluding his senior year, Erick reflects on how WNMU has impacted him and what it means to be a Mustang...  "For me, to be a Mustang means being a family. Coming out of town and being in this university I have gotten a lot of help from the community and I have also had the opportunity to help others so that we could all be successful. Having a great support system helps me feel at home!"
