Mere Signs with Mustang Men's Tennis

SILVER CITY, N.M.—Newly appointed Head Tennis Coach, Alex Hunt adds his first signee to the 2020-2021 Men's Tennis roster.

Rodrigo Mere transfers to WNMU after spending two seasons with the Palominos of Laredo Community College. Hailing from Guatemala, Mere is a 3-time runner up in singles play, as well as a 2-time champion in doubles in Central America. A National Champion in the OUATT Kids Cup Mexico in 2014, Rodrigo brings success and experience to the WNMU tennis program.

"Rodrigo is an extremely valuable addition to the Mustang Men's Tennis roster. He packs a punch behind every stroke he unleashes on the ball, and provides a strong mental game," said Coach Hunt.

"His physical and mental toughness he built up as Guatemala's top players, as well as playing in the line-up for top-10 nationally ranked Laredo CC the past two years, will serve him well in the Lone Star Conference. He is going to help push our already talented WNMU tennis team forward!"
