Tennis Continues Play Against Biola; Men Bounce Back with a Win

Azusa, CA--Western New Mexico Tennis continued their string of matches in California Monday against Biola.

On the women's side at #2 singles Camila Gomez (Bogota, Columbia ) was the bright spot of the match winning 6-1, 6-4 over her opponent. She and partner Julia Tozzi (Limeira, Brazil ) teamed up to get the win at #1 doubles as well.

The Mustang men came from behind to grab a 4-3 victory over Biola. For the 2nd match in a row, the pairs at #1 and #2 won their doubles matches to take a early lead. Entering the singles competition the Mustangs found themselves down 3-1. Down to the #1, #3 and #6 Senior Liam Fraboulet (France, Plouha/Lycée Kerraoul) and Freshmen Joel Ockernahl (Muehlacker, Germany ) claimed their respective matches to tie it up at 3. Tanaka Chabata clinched the #6 position, coming from behind to take a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory and the 4-3 match.

The men will meet up with Concordia - Irvine tomorrow, while the women will take the day off before taking on the Eagles on Thursday.
