Men's Tennis Drops Spring Break Opener at Sonoma State

Azusa, CA-- In their first game of a string of matches to be played over the week long break, the Men's Tennis team dropped a tough matchup 4-2 against Sonoma State.

The Mustangs started off strong grabbing doubles points at #2, but could not put together singles points to close it out.

Joel Ockernahl (Muehlacker, Germany ) continues to succeed at the #3 singles position, coming back from a 0-6 first set to win the second 6-3. Unable to finish the match, Ockernahl led 2-1 when the match was called. Tanaka Chabata was the other Mustang to produce a win at #6 singles in another three-set match, defeating Alec Wong 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.

The Mustangs will continue play, Monday at 12 p.m. against Biola University in Azusa.
