Tennis Opens Spring Season in Arizona

Silver City, N.M-- The Western New Mexico Men's and Women's tennis teams open their spring season this weekend in Surprise, AZ.

Both teams open the weekend on Saturday at 10 a.m. against Ottawa University (AZ), followed by Arizona Christian at 2 p.m. The Mustangs finish the weekend against Mesa Community College at 10 a.m on Sunday.

On the men's side, Liam Fraboulet (France, Plouha/Lycée Kerraoul) enters his senior campaign ranked 42nd in the nation. He is joined by junior Niko Barr (Whakatane, New Zealand/Trident), and freshmen, Joaquin Delpino (Villa Maria, Argentina ), Joel Ockernahl (Muehlacker, Germany ), and Oscar Serra (Senorbi, Italy ).

For the women, a new set of faces take the court for Western. Sophomore transfer Julia Tozzi looks to lead the team, along with Karina Kolovos. Rounding it out for the Lady Mustangs are freshmen Nicold Gonzalez, Camila Gomez, Julia Terrazas and Carolina Torrico

Matches will be played at the Surprise Tennis Center.
