Javelinas Use Strong Second Half to Run Away from Mustangs

Kingsville, TX-- Western New Mexico visited Texas A&M-Kingsville in Saturday for their final road game of the season.


Early on it was all Mustangs as they managed to shut out the Javelinas for more than five minutes to start the game. The final 15 minutes of the half would be hotly contested defensively, and Kingsville would take a two point lead into the half, 23-21.


The final 20 minutes was not so even as the home team came out hot and only got hotter, stretching their lead to double digits by the first media timeout. That lead would stand and the Mustangs would fall on the road.


Western returns home next week for the final two games of the season when they host Lone Star Conference foes Tarleton St. and Texas A&M-Commerce.
