Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Western Falls in Battle of the Mustangs

Wichita Falls, TX-- Continuing their road trip, Western looked to rebound from Thursday night and earn their first conference win. Similar to the women, the men found themselves down early and trailing.

Midwestern was efficient, shooting 58.1 percent from the floor and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc to take a significant lead going into the break.

The second half sparked a late run by Western cutting into the Midwestern lead. Woodson continued to the fuel the offensive efforts, along with Willie McCray (Clovis, NM/Clovis/Westwind Prep Academy), both scoring in double digits.

Despite a late run, and last minute efforts close in on the host, Western was unable to comeback from the first half deficit.

JR Woodson was a point away from matching his season high, leading all scorers with 24 points and three steals. Willie McCray (Clovis, NM/Clovis/Westwind Prep Academy) added 13 points of his own, two blocks and a steal.

As a team Western converted 34 of their points in the paint, 15 fast break points and 17 points off turnovers.

The teams return home to continue conference play, hosting Texas A&M - Kingsville and Angelo State, Thursday and Saturday respectively.
