For the third conference match in a row, the Mustangs skunked their opponents, 9-0. This time the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves were the victims.
“The men played good tennis the whole match,” says assistant coach Carolina Hannes. “Their opponents didn't give them too much trouble.”
All three pairs in doubles didn't have any problems. The closest match was at no. 2 with
Jean Benoit Belin (Nimes, France, Emmanuel d'Alzon High School, Staps University (France)) and
Rodrigo Almeida (Arapongas, Brazil, Nene Lourenco High School), who won 8-2.
In singles, each Mustang won in straight sets.
Johan Weich (Landskrona, Sweden, Filbornaskolan High School, Hope International University),
Henning Thrien (Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Carl Friedrick Gaus Gymnasium, Hope International University), and Belin all gave up just one point over the two sets.
“The guys stayed in the top of their games the whole way through today. The guys are ready to face a strong Kearney team tomorrow,” concludes Hannes.
