WNMU found themselves down by 22 points against NCAA Division I Weber State midway through the first half, but the Mustangs put together a solid second half to cut the lead down to seven, 75-68, with 6:00 left to play. The Wildcats were able to put together a 15-3 run over the next five minutes to put an upset out of reach. Weber State defeated WNMU in the purple and gold's second and final exhibition game of the season, 94-78.
WNMU did not shoot as well as their first exhibition matchup featuring Northern Arizona (37.5 vs. WSU, 40.5 vs. NAU), but they did improve at the free throw line (77.3 vs. WSU, 68.4 vs. NAU). WNMU went to the charity stripe 22 times and sank 17 of them. Weber State went to their own free throw line twice as much though. They were 33 for 47.
The Wildcats finished with a commanding 49-27 advantage on the boards but tallied 18 turnovers. WNMU committed only 11 errors in the loss.
Andy Sohlich (Battle Creek, MI, St. Phillip Catholic Central High School, Western Texas Community College; Eldon Academy Prep) led the Mustangs in points with 18 (5-11 FG).
Chad Carter (Tucson, AZ, Ironwood Ridge High School) followed with 15 points. He also grabbed six rebounds to lead the team.
