Newsome hit a 35-foot game-winning shot at the buzzer to lift WNMU past Eastern New Mexico by three in the first game of the week. She added 17 points in that same game and then posted her second-highest total of the year versus the Cowgirls going for 26 points. For the week she averaged 21.5 points, three rebounds, shot 52.4 percent and had nine assists and four steals. She added to that being named to the All-RMAC Second-Team.
