Valu Fa (Suva, Fiji, Natabua High School, New Mexico Military Institute) will finish his final year of intercollegiate tennis with a bang. He helped lead the Mustangs to the 2009 NCAA Division II Men’s Championship finals over the weekend. In the first regional match-up between the Mustangs and Minnesota State University – Mankato over the weekend, WNMU swept their competition, 5-0. Fa won at the No. 2 doubles spot with partner Wilton Atkins. Fa’s singles match was halted since WNMU clinched the match. Versus St. Cloud State, WNMU recorded a 5-1 victory. Fa won at both No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles. Overall, the Mustangs have won 11 of their last 14 matches.
