Silver City, NM – The Mustangs wrap up a difficult match against the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps at home.
The morning started with the Mustangs battling Lady Chaps but eventually fell with a final score of 0-7.
The match started with the Mustangs pairing up for duo matches, with the first duo exiting the court being
Nikoletta Pytel (Warsaw, Poland/Cosinus Lódz (Poland)) and
Josefina Bailetti (Pergamino, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Nuestra Señora del Huerto), falling 1-6. The second duo exiting the court was
Sofija Krstic (Knjazevac, Serbia/Gymnasium 9th May) and Lucia Carmea, conceding 4-6. The final duo off the court was
Eva Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) and
Xaviera Melgar (Tacna, Peru/Alexander Von Humboldt School), who fought a difficult fight but eventually dropped the match 6-7(6-8).
The singles started, but Pytel was the first to exit the court 1-6, 1-3, ending the game with retirement. Carmena was the second to exit the court, 0-6, 1-6. Krstic exit the court third, falling 0-6, 2-6, with Melgar following 3-6, 2-6, and Guta 3-6, 3-6. The last Mustang to exit the court was Bailetti taking the match to three sets, but eventually falling 2-6, 6-3, 8-10.
This concluded the last homestand by the Mustangs with a final score of 0-7.
The Western New Mexico Mustangs will continue the season and will head to Wichita Falls, TX to battle the Midwestern State Mustangs on the 24
th of April.
