Silver City, NM – The Mustangs concluded their first game at home against the St. Mary's Rattlers
The morning at Silver City saw the Mustangs fight the St. Mary's Rattlers, which concluded with the Mustangs falling 0-7.
The morning started with the Mustangs pairing up for doubles matches, with the first duo to exit the court being
Josefina Bailetti (Pergamino, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Nuestra Señora del Huerto) and
Lucia Carmena (Alcala de Henares, Spain/Les Complutense Alcala de Henares), whose match concluded 2-6. The second duo exiting the match was
Eva Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) and
Xaviera Melgar (Tacna, Peru/Alexander Von Humboldt School), conceding the match 2-6.
The Mustangs then went for singles, with Melgar exiting the court first, falling 0-6, 1-6. Carmena was the second to exit the court, falling 1-6, 0-6. The third Mustang exiting the court was Bailetti, where her fight fell 2-6, 2-6.
Sofija Krstic (Knjazevac, Serbia/Gymnasium 9th May) exited the court fourth after falling 6-2, 6-4. The last Mustang to exit the court was Guta, who took the battle to a tiebreaker, but eventually fell 6-7(7-9), 7-6(8-6), and 9-11.
This concluded the first home game for the Mustangs with a final score of 0-7.
The Mustangs will continue their matchup against the Rattlers tomorrow, where they will meet up again at the WNMU Tennis Courts tomorrow at 09:00 AM.
