Box Score Biola, CA – The Mustangs women's tennis team concluded their visit to California with their final visit to Biola to challenge the Biola University Eagles.
The morning was concluded with the Mustangs falling short 6-1.
The morning saw the Mustangs splitting up into pairs for doubles matches. The first pair to leave the court was
Josefina Bailetti (Pergamino, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Nuestra Señora del Huerto) and
Eva Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)), dropping the match 1-6. The second duo to leave the court was
Xaviera Melgar (Tacna, Peru/Alexander Von Humboldt School) and
Sofija Krstic (Knjazevac, Serbia/Gymnasium 9th May), whose match ended with them falling 2-6. The last duo leaving the court was
Nikoletta Pytel (Warsaw, Poland/Cosinus Lódz (Poland)) and
Lucia Carmena (Alcala de Henares, Spain/Les Complutense Alcala de Henares), whose match was left unfinished after a 5-2.
The second part was singles, where the first Mustang to leave the court was Guta, dropping the match 0-6, 2-6. Carmena was the second to leave the court, falling 1-6, 1-6. Pytel's match concluded afterwards with her falling 4-6, 5-6. Bailetti left the court fourth, taking the match to a tiebreaker and eventually claiming victory 1-6, 6-2, 10-8. Krstic fought hard, but left the court fifth, falling 3-6, 2-6. The final Mustang to leave the court was Melgar, dropping the match 3-6, 2-6.
This concluded the Mustang's visit to California, with a final score of 6-1.
The Mustangs will continue their season, where they will travel to Alpine, TX, to face the Sul Ross Lobos on the 21
st of March.
