Best Mustangs in the West

Silver City, N.M. – In a Mustang-versus-Mustang showdown, Western New Mexico hosted Midwestern State for a Friday doubleheader and came away with a hard-earned sweep. Both games were high-scoring battles, but WNMU proved more clutch when it counted, outslugging Midwestern State 11–7 in game one and edging them out 10–9 in a nail-biter finale. The wins give the Mustangs serious momentum as they head into the second half of their 2025 season.

In the sixth, Carbajal tacked on another run with an RBI groundout, sealing the 11–7 win.
