Portales, New Mexico - The 2024 Volleyball season continued with the Western New Mexico Mustangs. They would finish the LSC Crossover with a match against Eastern New Mexico University The Mustangs would battle tough with each of the sets but ultimately lose 2-3.
ENMU:
Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) led the offense for the Mustangs with 17 kills.
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) would spread the ball around the court nicely with 25 assists.
Logan Dodge (Liberal, KS/Liberal Senior High School) would lead the Mustangs with five aces.
The back row of the Mustangs had a busy game as
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) would lead the team with 31 digs. Jéssica Sales would lead with seven block assists for the Mustangs.
Set 1
The Mustangs would pull ahead for the first set against the Greyhounds and win 25-15.
Greyhound 0, Mustangs 1.
Set 2
In set two, the Mustangs out up a good fight but soon fall to the greyhounds losing the set 23-25.
Greyhound 1, Mustangs 1.
Set 3
Gaining back the momentum the Mustangs fight back to win the third set against the Greyhounds 25-20.
Greyhounds 1, Mustangs 2.
Set 4
Trying their best but not being able to execute it, the Mustangs fall to the Greyhounds for set four 16-25.
Greyhounds 2, Mustangs 2.
Set 5
Going into the fifth set, the Greyhounds and Mustangs battle neck and neck. Ultimately, the Mustangs did not pull through to the finish line and lose the set 11-15.
