SILVER CITY, NM – WNMU Softball closed out the 3-game series facing #6 UT Tyler in The Yard. The Mustangs fell to the Patriots 2-15.
GAME 3:
The Patriots took an early lead over the Mustangs in the first inning, having three batters reach home plate. Good base running in the 2nd inning would allow the Patriots to extend the lead another 2 runs.
Kamerynn Cordova (Fowler, CA/Fowler HS) created the first Mark for the WNMU with a solo shot over Left Field wall. Within the same inning, Nichole Armijo (Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain HS) lined her first Mustang Homerun in almost the exact spot as K. Cordova to cut the lead 2-5.
The Patriots went on a hitting spree in the next 3 innings to put the Mustangs away 2-15.
K. Cordova was the first pitcher for the Mustangs, facing 19 batters in the process.
