SILVER CITY, NM – Western New Mexico University finished their 3-game series against West Texas A&M today at The Yard, falling to their opponent 1-9.
GAME 3:
The Lady Buffs squeezed in the first run in the top of the 1st inning and extended it by 4 in the top of the 2nd inning. In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Kamerynn Cordova (Fowler, CA/Fowler HS) shot a deep flyball over Left Field to put the Mustangs on the board for a solo HR, giving the Mustangs their lone run of the game.
WNMU would allow four more runs in the top of the third inning to give the Lady Buffs our final score of 1-9.
K. Cordova saw the circle first today, picking up one SO in the first inning. Labraida Tenorio (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) finished off in the circle for WNMU, pitching two shutout innings with two SOs.
