CANYON, TX – The Western New Mexico University Women's Basketball team played the Buffs of West Texas A&M for the second time this season. Mustangs fell to WT 43-68.
Milan Tuttle (Oakland, California/Heritage High School) led the Mustangs in scoring this matchup as she shot 3-5 FGs and went 4-4 at the stripe to rack up 10 points.
Brooke Rodgers (Phoenix, Arizona/Cactus Shadows High School) cleaned the boards managing to grab three offensively and six defensively for nine total.
The team was outshot by 14% to WTAMU on FGs and 12% on FTs. Mustangs struggled from deep as the went 0-7 behind the arc.
Mustangs started the game only down one by the end of the 1st quarter, but were held to 10 points in the 2nd quarter to give the Buffs a 9 point lead.
The Buffs shot 7-11 in the second half of the game. This gave the Buff enough momentum to stretch their lead to 25 point lead.
WT's leading scorer was Karley Motschenbacher who put up 18 points for the Buffs.
The Mustangs will return to Drags Court this week against UAFS on Thurs at 5:30PM MT.
