Lubbock, TX – WNMU traveled to Lubbock, TX this week to challenge 25th Nationally Ranked Lubbock Christian University. Although the Mustangs would cut the LCU's lead down to 4 in the 2 quarter, LCU would come out victorious against WNMU 45-59.
For her second straight game leading the Mustangs in scoring (14pnts), Jade Goynes (Fort Worth, TX/North Crowley High School) would put up double figure numbers once again. She also came away with a steal, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds to help WNMU tonight.
Larissa Laborin (Las Cruces, New Mexico/Centennial High School) finished with her personal best of 8 rebounds (4 offensively and 4 defensively) in one game.
17 turnovers and 38% FG shooting is what would ultimately take the Mustangs down in this matchup.
While giving the Chaps a 10 pnt run in the first quarter, the Mustangs traded off buckets and cut the lead to just 4 points. This quickly changed and stretched throughout the rest of the game as the Chaps produced 33 pnts in the 2 half of the game.
The Mustangs will face West Texas A&M at 5:30PM MT on Saturday to finish this week's road trip
