Box Score Albuquerque, N.M. - Western New Mexico University's men's basketball took on the University of New Mexico's Lobos. The Mustangs were keeping things close in the beginning taking the lead for a short time, but eventually were outscored 122-70.
    Western was led by
Carson Kelly (Chandler, AZ/Chandler High School)(5-8) and
Aiden Wall (North Richland Hills, TX/Keller Central High School)(5-7), both ending the game with 14 points each. They were followed closely by
Isaiah Marin (Phoenix, AZ/Copper Canyon High School)(5-12) with 13 points.
Judah Casaus (Albuquerque, NM/ABC Prep) ended the game with the most rebounds, totaling at 6, while Wyatt Mackay led in steals with 3.
    In the first half, Western was shooting 61.5%(16-26) from the field and 41.7%(5-12) beyond the arc. On the opposing side, the Lobos were 53.8%(21-39) from the field and 58.3%(7-12) from 3-point range. In the second half, the Mustangs were 36.4%(12-33) from the field and 25%(2-8) from 3-point range, while the Lobos were 66.7%(26-39) from the field and 43.8%(7-16) from beyond the arc. Western went 58.3%(7-12) from the free throw line. The Lobos were 82.4% from the free throw line. Ultimately the Mustangs fell to the Lobos 122-70 in the end.
    The Mustangs will be back home for a matchup against the Dallas Baptist University Patriots. They will be tipping off December 17th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. MDT.
