Dallas, Texas - The 2024 Volleyball season continued for the Western New Mexico Mustangs. The Mustangs traveled to Dallas, Texas, to play the Dallas Baptist Patriots this week. After a tough game, the Mustangs lose 0-3 to the Patriots.
Dallas Baptists University:
Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) led the Mustangs with nine kills total against the Patriots.
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) will work hard for the Mustangs, earning 14 assists.
Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) and
Chase Kallevig (Louisburg, KS/Louisburg High School) would do the team a solid and record two service aces each.
The back row of the Mustangs was a busy game as
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) would lead the team with eight digs.
Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde High School) and Jéssica Sales would lend a helping hand to the team with one solo block each for the Mustangs.
Set 1
Logan Dodge (Liberal, KS/Liberal Senior High School) records a service ace gaining the first point for the Mustangs against the Patriots. A kill by
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) will tie the score 5-5 for the Mustangs. The Patriots soon gain the lead again and win the first set 15-25.

The Mustangs started off the second set strong, earning the first point. The Patriots earn a six-point run that gets broken up by a kill from
Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School). Not being able to catch up, the Mustangs lost the set 13-25.

Set 3

Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) helps the Mustangs earn the lead over the Patriots at 2-0. The Patriots come back, tying the score at 3-3 until
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) earns a service ace, making the score 5-3. The Patriots soon record a 10-point run.
Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz Pereira) will help the Mustangs with a kill to stop the run. Not being able to pull through, the Mustangs will lose the set 18-25.
