Silver City, N.M. – Mustang Volleyball continued its 2024 season in a tough match against Lubbock Christian University, ultimately falling 1-3 after battling through four sets.
Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) led the Mustangs with 14 kills and 11 digs.
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) contributed significantly with 42 assists, while
Chase Kallevig (Louisburg, KS/Louisburg High School),
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France), and Jéssica Sales each added a service ace.
Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde High School) was strong at the net with four solo blocks.
Set 1: The Mustangs started with energy, with Walker recording the first point, but despite a strong effort, they dropped the set 15-25.
Set 2: Finding their rhythm, the Mustangs rallied and took the set 25-23, with key plays from Walker, Deck, and a final kill from Medina.
Set 3: The back-and-forth battle continued, tied at 18-18 at one point, but the Lady Chaps pulled ahead, taking the set 19-25.
Set 4: The Mustangs fought hard to stay in the game, leveling the score at 13-13, but the Lady Chaps ultimately closed the set 16-25, securing the match.
