Silver City - New Mexico - Mustang volleyball continue to fight during the 2024 season with a match against Midwestern State University on their own court. The match ended with a win for the Mustangs as they beat Midwestern 3-2.

Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) obtains 14 kills against Midwestern State. Gaining 43 assists,
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) would pass the ball around the court with full effort. Jéssica Sales and
Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) would help the team out by receiving six aces each.
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) would come on top for digs, with a total of 24. Three Mustangs would watch the net together having three solo blocks each,

Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde High School), and
Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz Pereira).

Starting off strong, the Mustangs will gain a six point run leading with a score of 6-1. Midwestern soon battle back, but with a kill from
Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde High School), the Mustangs will stay in the lead at 10-6. The Mustangs do all they can to stay in the lead and win the set 25-22.

Set 2
Midwestern finds their momentum and take off with a five point run making the score 1-5. The Mustangs continue to fall back and Midwestern stays in the lead ultimately winning the set 20-25.

Set 3
Mustangs start off strong with a kill by
Jayden Hughes (High Rolls, NM/Cloudcroft High School) to get them on the board with a score of 4-0. The two tie at 12-12, but with a kill from Jéssica Sales they pull ahead again 18-14. Midwestern puts up a fight and pushes past the Mustangs winning the set 21-25.

Set 4
A kill from Jéssica Sales earns the first point on the board for the Mustangs. The two teams are tied at 11-11,
Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde High School) soon makes an ace for the Mustangs pushing them into the lead at 20-17. Keeping the lead, the Mustangs win the set 25-20.

Set 5
Pushing into a fifth set, the Mustangs go on a six point run and gain a lead of 6-2 with a kill by
Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School). Midwestern catches up and ties the game at 9-9. A kill from
Hannah Del Rio (Vacaville, CA/Will C. Wood High School) will make the score 14-10. A close game for both the Mustangs and Midwestern, the Mustangs will fight to the finish and win the set 15-12.

The Mustangs continue on to their next match against Texas Woman's University on October 12, 2024 in Silver City, New Mexico.
