Silver City - New Mexico - Mustang Volleyball battles in their third home game of the week. After putting up a long fight, Texas Woman's Pioneers would take down the Mustangs 0-3 for a sweep.

Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) takes the lead for the Mustangs in kills with a total of 11. Eimaya Medina (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial High School) gives the team a total of 25 assists to help spread the ball around nicely. Both Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) and Logan Dodge (Liberal, KS/Liberal Senior High School) would help the team out with a service ace each for the Mustangs. 

In the back row, Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) earns the lead with a total of 14 digs during the match. Hannah Del Rio (Vacaville, CA/Will C. Wood High School) and Jéssica Sales will fight for the Mustangs by the net with a solo block each. 

Set 1
Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz Pereira) had the first kill of the day for the Mustangs putting them on the board with 1-1. Staying neck and neck, Hannah Del Rio (Vacaville, CA/Will C. Wood High School) will move the score to 7-7 with another great kill for the Mustangs. Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) earns a service ace keeping them in the set at 17-21. Not quite being able to push through, the Mustangs lose to the Pioneers 21-25.

Set 2
Another amazing kill from Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz Pereira) will get the Mustangs on the board first in set two. The Pioneers will earn a four point run until a kill by Hannah Del Rio (Vacaville, CA/Will C. Wood High School) shuts them down and gains a point back for the Mustangs. The Pioneers soon shut down the Mustangs and gain a six point run. With a hard battle from the Mustangs, Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz Pereira) will have a great kill to tie the score at 25-25. Pushing in to extra points, the Pioneers pull ahead and the Mustangs will lose 25-27.

Set 3 
The Pioneers start off with a strong run gaining a lead of 1-8. A kill from Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy High School) will put the Mustangs back on the board, but not enough to gain a new lead. Jayden Hughes (High Rolls, NM/Cloudcroft High School) will earn the last point for the Mustangs with a tough kill. With the Pioneers still on top, the Mustangs will lose 9-25 for set three, and 0-3 for the match.

The Mustangs will recover from a tough week of games, and be back and ready to play on October 16, 2024, against Angelo State at Silver City, New Mexico.
