KINGSVILLE, Texas. – The Western New Mexico University Volleyball team ended a three-game road trip at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The Javelinas took down the Mustangs in three straight sets.

Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy HS) led the offense with eight kills. Letícia Correa and
Madalyn Mavady (Las Vegas, NV/Liberty High School) each dished out nine assists.Â
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) led the defense this afternoon with 16 kills.
Naomi Kimble (Animas, NM/Animas HS) was a force up front with two blocks.Â

The Mustangs and Javelinas started off the match neck and neck, tied up 10-10. TAMUK would extend their lead to six points, 23-17 before closing out WNMU 25-19.

Javelinas 1, Mustangs 0.
In set two, the Javelinas ripped off seven straight points on the Mustangs for a 7-0 lead. The Mustangs would never recover, dropping set two 25-12.

For set number three, the Mustangs lead early 6-3. TAMKU would close out the Mustangs with a 22-8 run for a 25-14 set three victory.

The Mustangs will return home for homecoming week with a match on Friday against Arkansas Fort-Smith (6:00 PM MT).
