LAREDO, Texas. – On Friday night, The Western New Mexico Univeristy Volleyball team traveled to Texas A&M International University for a matchup with the Dustdevils. The Mustangs would be swept 3-0.

Maria Osorio (Pereira, Colombia/Calasanz) led the offense with seven kills. Letícia Correa dished out nine assists. Two Mustangs recorded three aces on the night.Â
Lilouann Bechec (Cannes, France) led the defense this afternoon with nine kills. Three different Mustangs would record a block.

The Mustangs jumped out early in set one, 8-3 thanks to brilliant serving from
Chase Kallevig (Louisburg, KS/Louisburg High School). TAMUI eventually settled into the match, outscoring the Mustangs 22-9 for the set, 25-17.

Dustdevils 1, Mustangs 0.
In set two, the Dustdevils came out a different team, surging to a 7-1 lead quickly. WNMU could not get much going, dropping set two 25-13.

For set number three, the Mustangs kept pace with the Dustdevils, trailing 8-5 before the Dustdevils closed them out. The Dustdevils took set three 25-11.
