SILVER CITY, N.M. – Saturday Afternoon the Western New Mexico Mustangs would be facing Angelo State University for their last home matches of the year. Mustangs fell 7-0.

At No. 1 doubles Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) and Kasja Gedlitschka fell to their opponents 6-4. No. 3 doubles with Willemijn Van Mierlo (Amsterdam, Netherlands/Calandlyceum) and Massiel Paredes (Lima, Peru/Pamer HS) losing 6-2. No. 2 duo partners, Jenny Larsson (Stockholm, Sweden)  and Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) match would go unfinished. 

Larsson played as the No. 2 singles player and lost 7-5, 6-2. Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) played at the No. 5 spot, and fell 6-2, 6-1, 6-1. Playing at the No. 1 spot, Van Mierlo lost to her opponent 6-0, 6-3. Leite played at the No. 3 position and was defeated by her opponent 6-2, 6-3. Wang played in the No. 4 position and fell 6-1, 6-1.  

No. 5 Gedlitschka being our only senior playing in single matches losing 6-0, 6-4, 6-1. 

The Mustangs will hit the road to face St. Mary's University, April 15th at 10:30AM.
