CANYON, TEXAS - The Western New Mexico University softball team finished up a three-game road series against West Texas A&M on Friday afternoon. The Buffs would defeat the Mustangs 8-0 in game to take the series 3-0.

Cassidy Paulson (Arvada, CO/Golden Colorado HS) got the start for the Mustangs today. Paulson would pitch 5.0 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 2 BB and 1 K. She is now (1-5) on the season. 

WT would waste no time getting started with a two-run homerun in the 1st inning from Diana Murtha for a 2-0 lead.

In the 2nd inning Brittni Rufus would double to left, scoring Julie Guzman, extending the lead to 3-0. 

Emilee Boyer would keep things going in the 4th inning with a single, scoring Ruby Salzman and Gabie McConnell for to make it 5-0 Buffs.

In the 5th inning Shyanne Sanchez would record a double to score Guzman for a 6-0.

Salzman would step up to the plate again in the 6th inning for a two-run homerun, scoring McConnell to make it 8-0.

Kyra Lair received the nod for the Buffs today, going 6.0 IP, 3 H and 9 Ks. She is now (13-1) on the year.
