WICHITA FALLS, TX – Playing in Wichita Falls, TX, the Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis were defeated by Midwestern State University, 6-1.
Midwestern State got the early lead, winning the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) and Kasja Gedlitschka fell, 6-1. No.2 doubles partners, Jenny Larsson (Stockholm, Sweden) and Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) had a close match but fell short 6-4. Playing at No. 3 doubles, Willemjin Van Mierlo and Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) were defeated 6-0.
Getting the only point for the Mustangs, No. 2 singles player, Larssen defeated her opponent 6-1, 7-5.
Wang was playing in the No. 4 position and fell 6-2, 6-0. Playing at the No. 3 spot, Leite lost in consecutive sets at 6-2, 6-2. Van Mierlo played at the No. 1 position and was defeated 6-1, 6-3.
Playing at the No. 6 position, Gedlitschka fell 6-0, 6-0. No. 5 singles player, Li lost in a tough match 6-2, 6-4.
Mustangs will head to Lubbock Christian University, April 1st with a start time of 9:00AM.
