Women's Tennis Throttles Sul Ross State

SILVER CITY, N.M. – Friday afternoon, the Western New Mexico University Women's Tennis Team had dominate win 7-0, against non-conference opponent Sul Ross State. 

The Mustangs got the early lead, winning the doubles point. At No. 3 doubles Andreea Arnautu (Laval, Quebec, Canada/College Laval) and Massiel Paredes (Lima, Peru/Pamer HS) won, 6-0. No. 1 doubles Kasja Gedlitschka and Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) would win 6-0. No. 2 doubles Jenny Larsson (Stockholm, Sweden) and Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) would also be victorious 6-2.

In singles Lian Timmermans (Nederweert, Netherlands) would get the call up to No. 6, defeating her oppenent 6-0, 6-0. No. 1 singles Willemijn Van Mierlo (Amsterdam, Netherlands/Calandlyceum) would follow suit, winning 6-0, 6-0. Clinching the match was No. 2 Larsson with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. No. 4 Wang would get the job done 6-1, 6-0. No. 5 singles Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) would stomp her competition 6-0, 6-0. Rounding things out was Leite at the No. 3 winning 6-0, 6-0.

The Mustangs will play a conference match versus Cameron with first serve around 10:00am
