TYLER, TX. – The Western New Mexico University women's tennis team played at UT Tyler and fell 6-1. 

The Patriots got the early lead, winning the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles Caini Wang (New Taipei City, Taiwan/Taipei Municipal Nangang Vocational High School) and Kasja Gedlitschka lost, 6-2. No. 2 duo partners, Jenny Larsson (Stockholm, Sweden) and Livia Leite (Cunha-SP, Brazil/Bernardino Querido,) had a close match before falling, 6-4. No. 3 doubles with Willemijn Van Mierlo (Amsterdam, Netherlands/Calandlyceum) and Mann-Ning Li (Converse, TX/John H. Guyer HS) were defeated 6-1. 

Playing at the No. 6 spot, Gedlitschka got the Mustangs only point, 2-6, 6-4, 10-4. Li played at the No. 5 spot, and went to three sets before falling, 4-6, 6-4, 8-10. No. 1 singles player, Van Mierlo was defeated in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 1-6.

At No. 3 singles, Leite lost 7-6 (7-5), 6-1. Playing at the No. 4 position, Wang was defeated 6-0, 6-4. No. 2 singles, Larrson fell 6-2, 6-4. 

The Mustangs play tomorrow, at Dallas Baptist, with first serve at 9:00am MST
