PORTALES, NM- Silver City faces Eastern New Mexico for their last road game of the season. Mustangs took this win over the Greyhounds for the first time since 2018. WNMU defeated ENMU with a score of 71-66.
Sydney Wright (Houston, Texas/Henley High School) shot over 50% for the night ending with 21 points while going 100% from the free-throw line shooting 6-of-6.
Diamond Moore (Colorado Springs, CO/Harrison High School) would add 13 points and
Susi Namoa (Lahaina, Hawaii/Lahainaluna High School) finishing with 11.
Mustangs shot 26-of-59 (44.1%) from the field, 6-of-21 (28.6%) from the three, and 13-of-22 (59.1%) from the free-throw line.
WNMU outshined ENMU in almost every category. Mustangs out rebounded the Greyhounds 37-34,
Diamond Moore (Colorado Springs, CO/Harrison High School) with nine, and
Eliza Joynes (Adelaide, South Australia/Henley Sports Academy) with eight. Mustangs also added 16 assists in comparison to ENMU's 12. The Mustangs forced ENMU to 20 turnovers, scoring 17 points off of those turnovers. WNMU's bench also contributed 16 points to the Greyhounds three.
"Very proud of our team pulling out the victory against Eastern. We knew they would be ready to play on their senior night and it would be a tough game. Everybody contributed. Now we play them again Thursday and we know this will be the toughest game of the season on our senior night" Concluded Pace.
Adrian Deja had a double-double for the Greyhounds scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Ashley Shipley (18), Bella Stone (9).
