Mustangs End Senior Night With a Win

Silver City, NM- The Mustangs take on ENMU Greyhounds for the battle between East and West. Cassandra Vickery (Tularosa, NM/Tularosa HS) would get her fairytale ending, getting her last win as a Mustang. WNMU came out on top 64-61.
 
Going into the half Mustangs were up 26-22. WNMU shooting 10-of-29 (34.5%) from the field, 2-of-9 (22.2%) from the three-point line, and 4-of-6 (66.7%) from the free-throw line. Mustangs forced the Greyhounds to 13 turnovers in the first half.
 
Both Mustang and Greyhounds struggled taking care of the ball this evening. Mustangs ended the night with 20 turnovers and Greyhounds with 21. Free-throws were the difference between winning and losing. WNMU were 12-of-15 (80%) compared to ENMU's 64.7%.
 
Mustangs finish the game shooting 23-of-60 (38.3%) from the field, and 6-of-20 (30%) from the three-point line. Adding 44 rebounds, 15 assists, seven steals, and two blocks.
 
Bench points also separated the Mustangs. WNMU's bench added 30 points where ENMU's non-starters only added 15.
 
Edecai Beck, the Greyhounds lead scorer, ended the night with 20. Deja Adrian (13), Ashley Shipley (8).
 
"Very proud of how our team finished the season. We beat some very good teams in our conference. Even though we didn't make the tournament it's been some time since WNMU Women has had double digit wins.  Our culture is in the right place, and we want to continue growing" Pace concluded.
