DALLAS, Texas – The Western New Mexico University Volleyball team played game two of three of their road trip with a matchup against the Patriots of UT Tyler. The Mustangs fell in straight set, 3-0.

Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy HS) led the offense with eight kills.
Carley Deck (Tucson, AZ/Tanque Verde HS) had seven kills as well. Letícia Correa had 15 assists. Two Mustangs had an ace on the afternoon.
Correa led the Mustangs on defense with 10 digs.
Logan Dodge (Liberal, KS/Liberal Senior High School) added seven digs.
Naomi Kimble (Animas, NM/Animas HS) and Jéssica Sales had a block each as well.

The Patriots came out with an urgency to put the Mustangs away quick as they lead 9-2 early. WNMU would not be able to get anything going in set one, losing 25-14.

Patriots 1, Mustangs 0.
In set two, the Patriots again came out fast with a 10-1 advantage. The Patriots never took their foot off the gas for a 25-12 set two win.

For set number three, the Mustangs came out much better, trailing 10-7 early. The Patriots would trade points with the Mustangs, putting them away 25-17 in set three.

The Mustangs will continue their road trip on Monday October 10
th  with a matchup against UTPB (5:00 PM MT).
