Lawton, OK - Friday evening, Western New Mexico University Softball played a doubleheader against Cameron University. The lose in both games 14-2 and 5-2

Game One:

Cameron came out hot in the 1st inning, hitting a solo home run and a grand slam by Kaiden Boren. The Aggies would lead 5-0.

The Aggies continued their momentum in the 2nd inning, having six runs on four hits. One of those hits was a grand slam by Kaiden Boren, her second of the day. CU led 11-0 after two.

Cameron added one more run in the 3rd inning off an RBI single. CU had two walks and two hits in the inning.

The Mustangs got on the board in the top of the 4th inning off an Aryana Munoz (Dexter, New Mexico/Dexter High School) triple. The Mustangs trailed 12-2.

Cameron got those two runs right back in the bottom of the 4th, from a two-run home run.

Vanessa Hunt (Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe High School) got the start. She went 1.1 IP, 8 H, (11 ER), 1 K, and 4 BB. Julia Vega (Tucson, AZ/University HS) finished it out, going 2.2 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 K, and 2 BB

The Aggies started Breely Weeb. She is now 10-5 on the year.. She went 5.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 9 K and 2 BB.

Karis Clark: 3-for-4, HR, 2 R, 1 RBI

Madyson Marvulli: 1-for-3, HR, 1 R, 2 RBI

Game Two:

The Aggies got on the board first with a single in the 1st inning. The Mustangs answered back in the top of the 2nd inning, with a Laryssa Morales (Vail, AZ/Cienega High School) single.

In the 3rd inning, Cameron added two more runs with a single. The Aggies would lead 3-1.

In the 4th inning, Cameron's Marvulli would hit her second home run of the day, giving CU a 4-1 lead.

The Aggies added an insurance run in the bottom of the 5th inning, with a solo home run.

In consecutive weeks, WNMU's Kaylee Hickman (Cloudcroft, NM/Cloudcroft High School ) would pinch hit and hit a solo home run, but that's all the Mustangs would get falling 5-2.

Aryana Munoz (Dexter, New Mexico/Dexter High School) started for the Mustangs and pitched a complete game. She went 7.0 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 5 K and 1 BB.

Cameron's starting pitcher, Jocelyn is now (6-6). She pitched a complete game going 7.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 6 K, and 2 BB.

The Mustangs will go to Oklahoma Christian on April 10th, playing at 11:00am and 1:00pm MT.
