San Antonio, Tex - The Western New Mexico University volleyball was in action on Friday Oct. 7th against St. Mary's University. The Mustangs would lose to the Rattlers in three straight.
Junior
Jazmyne Walker (Las Vegas, NV/Legacy HS) was tonight's offensive machine as she would lead the Mustangs with 12 kills. Freshman
Peyton Castillo (Las Vegas, NV/Sierra Vista HS) would be the Mustangs top passer tonight with 15 assists.Â
Sophomore
Eliana Moultrie (El Paso, TX/Canutillo HS) was the Mustang's defense tonight, as she finished with 10 digs.
To start off set one the Rattlers would slither on out to a 15-6 lead on the Mustangs. That would be enough of a lead as the Rattler would win set one 25-15.
Rattlers 1, Mustangs 0.
In set two the Rattlers would break out again to another big lead on the Mustangs, 17-9. The Mustangs would not be able to rally back and would drop set two 25-18.
Rattlers 2, Mustangs 0.
Set three the Mustangs would find themselves down 16-9 early to the Rattlers. The Mustangs would rally late, but it would no be enough as they would drop set three 25-20.
Rattlers 3, Mustangs 0.
The Mustangs will be back in action on Saturady Oct. 8th against St. Edward's University (11:00 AM MT) at Gil E. Steinke Physical Education.
