Hickman Announces 2022 Softball Schedule

Silver City, N.M. -  First year Head Coach, Ashley Hickman of the Western New Mexico University Mustangs has announced the 2022. The schedule features the Mustangs playing in four different states. WNMU has 16 home games in Silver City, 15 games on the road, and 10 games at neutral sites.

For the first since the 2007 season, WNMU will have four preseason games at Mustang Field. CSU-Pueblo will make the trip down to Silver City, playing two double-headers on Feb. 12th and 13th.

"We are excited to come out February 4th to start our spring season. LSC double-headers start on March 4th with Texas Women's and Midwestern State on March 6th. The following weekend WNMU goes to Texas playing against Texas A&M-Commerce on March 11th, and finishes with UT Tyler on March 13th.

Home stands will be every other weekend. Lubbock Christian and Angelo State come into town March 18th and 20th St. Edwards and St. Mary's on April 1st and 3rd, and closing out the last home series is Eastern New Mexico and West Texas April 22nd and 24th. Senior day will be April 24th.

The Mustangs will go to Laredo, TX, playing 3 games against Texas A&M-International. Two of the games will be on March 25th and will be counted as LSC play. March 26th, the two teams will play one game as a non-conference match, before WNMU hits the road to Kingsville, playing a double-header on March 27th. On April 8th and 10th, WNMU will get on the diamond in Oklahoma against Cameron and Oklahoma Christian.
