Laredo, TX – The Western New Mexico University Volleyball team played against the Texas A&M International University Dustdevils. The Dustdevils defeated the Mustangs in three sets top put an end to the Mustang's long weekend.
Once again, Senior
Bria Augustine (Bellflower, CA/Mayfair High School) ended this afternoon's match leading the Mustangs with 10 kills and also leading in digs with 14. Veteran
Maggie Roe (Boulder City, NV/Boulder City High School) has a great game match with 9 kills with a hitting percentage of .250. Freshman
Marlaynah McDonald (Silver City, N.M./Silver High School) played well on the court for offense gaining 5 kills for the team and 2 aces.

Hailey Hertzog (Phoenix, AZ/Chaparral High School) lead the Mustangs in assists with 14 followed by senior
Madelynn Culp (Vancouver, WA/Union High School) who had 12 during the game.
Set one was evenly matched with the Mustangs and Dustdevils as both teams had 34 attacking attempts and one serving ace each. However, it was the Mustang serving errors that lost the game for the girls with a total of 3 in the first set giving the Dustdevils the win 17-25. Set two was a very similar story but the Mustangs came up just short with 19-25.
In set three, the Mustangs fought back hard to stay in the game, but unfortunately their serving errors got the best of them costing them. The Dustdevils took the final set 25-20.
WNMU Mustangs will head back home to Drag's Court on October 28
th, to play against Lubbock Christian University (Texas) with the first serve starting at 6:00 PM MT.
