Perez Steps Down from Assistant Athletic Director Post

SILVER CITY, N.M. – Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, Erin Perez will be stepping down from her post effective July 31st announced by Director of Athletics, Scott Noble.

"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Scott Noble, the Mustang athletics family and the extended staff at Western New Mexico University. I sincerely appreciate having had the opportunity to grow in the administrative side of intercollegiate athletics so early in my career. My time here has been very rewarding, and I know the future is bright for Mustang athletics," said Perez.

During her time at WNMU, Perez was the primary contact for all 11 of the Mustangs athletic teams. On a daily basis she provided updates on athletic department related information through WNMU Mustangs website, as well as managed press row on game days. In addition to her media responsibilities she oversaw the golf, tennis and cross country budgets, while also acting as the advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Perez joined the Mustang family after spending the time as the Business Operations and Championships Assistant with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. At the RMAC, she supervised the film exchange program, reviewed NLI's,  and was the assistant to the now Assistant Commissioner, Kirsten McCowan,

A 2016 graduate of Colorado Mesa University (CMU), Perez was an All-Conference Volleyball player for the Mavericks and was involved in several other campus-wide activities.

"I want to thank Erin for her work ethic, and playing an integral part in the transformation and growth of our department. She will be sorely missed," said Director of Athletics Scott Noble.

A national search for the next Assistant Athletic Director of Media Relations will begin immediately.
