Mustang Men Prepared for Battle Against Greyhounds Saturday

Silver City, N.M – The Mustang men travel back in-state for their second game of the road series to take on Eastern New Mexico. Thursday night's game saw the Mustangs match up with the Buffs of West Texas, matching their scoring efforts in the second half, but unable to bounce back from the first half. The Buffs shot 53 percent to Western's 41 to take a 104-81 victory.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS:

On the men's side, the Greyhounds come off a big win over UT-Permian Basin holding the leading scoring offense in the conference to just 66 points, and one of the conference's leading scorers to just eight points. With the win, Eastern now sits 6-6 in LSC for a sixth place standing, knocking the Falcons to 7th.

Devin Pullum's 13.0 points per game, leads the team and puts him 12th in the conference standings. His 3.0 assists per game is second best on the team.

Senior forward, Chukuka Emil does it on both ends of the ball, putting up 11.2 points per game, while grabbing 7.9 rebounds. Emil's 1.9 blocked shots also leads the conference.

HISTORY VERSUS THE GREYHOUNDS:

Saturday afternoon will prove to be another exciting matchup between this two teams, with Western looking to come in and avenge their 80-78 loss earlier this season. A last minute foul from court brought Jon-Reese Woodson (Corpus Christi, TX/Carroll) to the line, unable to connect on 2- of – 3 the Greyhounds held on to take home the win, leading the all-time series 55-46.

LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN:
With just seven games left in the regular season, the Mustang men hope to spark a second half run against familiar foes.
Their win over Texas A&M- Commerce marked their first conference win of the season, and first against a ranked opponent under head coach Matt Enriquez. This weekend marks the second to last road series for the men.

Game time is set for 4 p.m. (MST) in at Greyhound Arena
