Volleyball Coasts to Win over Cameron

Lawton, OK – After a tough four set loss the night prior, the Mustang look to get back in the winner's column. They did just that, and in dominating fashion, grabbing the straight set sweep over the Cameron Aggies Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Mustangs built a substantial lead early on with a kill from Delaney Seitz (Hillsboro, OR/Century High School) to go up 16-7 in the first.
  • Behind five service aces, and zero hitting errors WNMU took the opening set 25-16.
  • Cameron would be the ones to take the early lead in set two.
  • Errors by the Aggies would give way to a series of Mustang points to tie it at 9 apiece.
  • Late in the set, the teams traded points but the Mustang offense proved tough and closed out the set 25-20, for a 2-0 lead.
  • Set three was all WNMU as they sailed to a 25-10 win and the match.
  • As a team WNMU hit an incredible .423 on the match with just six hitting errors total.
UP NEXT:
Volleyball returns home for their final home matches of the season. Thursday will determine the "Best of the Wests" as West Texas A&M travels Drag's Court for a 6 p.m. match. Saturday's Senior Day will feature the rivalry of east and west as Eastern New Mexico comes to town. First serve will be at 6 p.m.
