Volleyball Drops Tough Match Against St. Edward's

Silver City, N.M. – The Mustang volleyball team dropped to 4-10 overall on Saturday, after a tough St. Edward's team entered Drag's Court looking for redemption after a three set loss to UTPB earlier in the week. The Hilltoppers took home a sweep of the Mustangs, outscoring WNMU in every category.

Delaney Seitz (Hillsboro, OR/Century High School) – 7 kills | .308 hitting percentage
Madelynn Culp (Vancouver, WA/Union High School) – 12 assists | 8 digs
Kim Austin (Las Vegas, NV /Basic High School ) – 3 kills | 2 block assists | 4 digs
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • SEU jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead to start the match, and would distance themselves to take a comfortable 25-10 set one.
  • The Mustangs would battle it out in set two, but could not stop the Hilltopper hitters as they hit .286 as a team to take a 2-0 lead, winning the second set 25-16
  • Western strung together a series of points in the final set, but came up short in as SEU took home the match in three straight.
UP NEXT:
The Mustangs drop to 4-10 on the season, but will look to bounce back next week in Texas as they head to Denton and Wichita Falls to take on Texas Woman's and MSU – Texas.
