Mustangs Fall in Three in Denton

Box Score Denton, Tex. – Despite a relentless effort, the Mustang volleyball team fell in three sets to the Pioneers of Texas Woman's Friday evening in Denton, Tex. Despite holding a 44-39 edge in kills, WNMU committed seven service errors while the Pioneers tallied 10 service aces.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

TWU jumped out to an early 6-0 lead.
It appeared the Pioneers had the set with a 9-23 lead, but the Mustangs would rally back with an 11-1 scoring run to get to 21.
After a challenge review, the Mustangs run came to an end at 25-21, in favor of TWU.
Set two started with the Mustangs taking a 3-0 lead.
The teams traded points throughout the set, before TWU went up 23-21.
WNMU rallied to get within one, but a TWU kill ended it at 25-23 for a 2-0 lead in the match.
The Mustangs held the advantage for a majority of the set.
The Pioneers completed the late comeback, to take the set and match in straight sets.
