HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • ENMU chipped away in their second drive of the game after starting on the Western 48-yard line, taking seven plays to the end zone for the first score of the game.
  • A missed field goal by WNMU kept them scoreless going into the second quarter.
  • ENMU answered with a 47-yard field goal of their own to go up 10-0 at the 11:55 mark.
  • Despite an interception, Roosevelt Calhoun Jr. (Reno, NV/Hug HS) took matter into his own hands, forcing a fumble for the third consecutive game to give the possession back to the Mustangs.
  • The Mustang offense capitalized on the turnover with a 32-yard pass from CJ Fowler (Mesa, AZ/Desert Ridge HS) to Reggie Colson Jr. to get on the board.
  • At the 4:30 mark, Igancio Correa redeemed himself with a 30-yard field goal to put WNMU within seven.
  • The Greyhound drive was short lived as Izell Price (Detroit, MI/Westlake HS ) grabbed an interception just as the time ran out in the first half.
  • Justin Manyweather for the Greyhounds started off the second half with a 64-yard rush for the team's third touchdown.
  • After a successful field goal from ENMU, Josh Powell made a statement with a 99-yard kickoff return to the Eastern end zone for the second touchdown of the game.
  • The fourth and final quarter was all Eastern as the rushing attack kept the pressure on.
  • Eastern scored 21-points in the fourth on their way to a 48-17 win and the possession of the Chile Bowl for another year.
